(Tribune) A woman with a concealed carry permit shot and killed a teen who tried to rob her at gunpoint Tuesday morning on the Far South Side, according to Chicago police.
The 25-year-old woman was standing on a corner when the teen approached around 5:40 a.m. in the 500 block of West 103rd Street in the Fernwood neighborhood, police said.
When the teen pulled out a gun, the woman grabbed her own and fired one shot, hitting the teen in the neck, police said. The teen ran off but was found a block away and taken to Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn, where he was pronounced dead.
The teen remained unidentified as of Tuesday evening, but an autopsy was scheduled for Wednesday, according to the Cook County medical examiner’s office.
