(dna Info) Bloodied man used Facebook Live to broadcast a standoff between himself and a group of people during an apparent attack in Austin.
The incident happened Tuesday afternoon in the 5200 block of West Adams Street and involved a screwdriver, officials said. Two women and a man were injured in the incident, said Larry Merritt, a Chicago Fire Department spokesman.
A man streamed the incident and its aftermath in four videos that have quickly spread on Facebook. They have been watched more than 377,000 times.
The first video, which has been shared more than 4,200 times on Facebook, shows a bloodied man carrying something — others in the video call it a knife — while threatening people. The man shows his blood-covered chest and arms on Facebook Live and uses gang slogans and signs in the video.
Other people threaten the man with poles and the man says, “I will come back with 20 n—–. You guys better not be here because I’m a start shooting n——.”
Eventually police arrive and the man records officers as they speak to witnesses. People in the video say the man stabbed two or three women.
In another video, the man points his camera at his face, revealing blood dripping from his nose and chin down to his chest.
The fourth video shows the man in what appears to be a hospital, his neck in a brace, bandages in his nose and cuts along his chest.
Two people were hospitalized at Mount Sinai and Stroger hospitals and their injuries did not appear be to life-threatening, Merritt said.
Chicago Police could not immediately answer questions about the incident Friday.
