The man was sitting in a parked vehicle when someone in another vehicle in traffic jumped out and fired shots, striking the man in the head. He was taken in critical condition to Loyola Hospital.
At around 12:00 a.m. Wednesday, a 17-year-old boy was shot in the leg in the Humboldt Park neighborhood.
The boy was inside a home in the 3500 block of West Pierce Avenue when someone fired shots outside. The bullets shattered the home’s window and hit the boy. He was taken to Mount Sinai Hospital, where his condition stabilized.
This past Monday August 8th was Chicago’s Deadliest day in over a decade. Nine out of the 19 people who were shot on Monday died. This marks the deadliest day of gun violence in Chicago since July 5, 2003—a day on which there were 10 homicides.
There were 3 police involved car chases across the city Tuesday it is unclear if this cruiser crashed in one of those car chases.
Chicago is starting to resemble the wild wild west more and more every day. According to the police radio this vehicle was being pursued by the Chicago police when it crashed into another vehicle at 59th and Ashland in the west Englewood neighborhood on Chicago’s Southside. it is unknown if the suspects bailed or were arrested, but what I do know is a gun was found in the vehicle. These fleeing criminals use guns to kill and wound but when they are trying to escape from police at high rates of speed, that vehicle becomes as deadly a weapon as the gun they use.
