Three people were found dead in a car illegally parked in a South Side alley in the Gresham neighborhood early Monday, officials said.
Chicago police were called to the 8600 block of South Throop Street shortly before 8 a.m. to check on a report of a person found unconscious and not breathing, according to officials.
Officers found two bodies in the car and, about 15 minutes later, discovered another body in the trunk, authorities said. One of the victims could be as young as 16.
Someone had reported the car illegally parked about 9 p.m. Sunday but it was not clear whether police had checked it then.
Fire officials could not say whether the bodies had signs of trauma, and police said they were conducting a death investigation.
The three bodies were found in a vehicle registered to a Blue Island address. About 3 a.m. this morning, a missing person’s report was filed for a 20-year-old male living at the same address, Blue Island Police said.
Family members told police the man took their dog out for a walk last night. He returned home, put the dog inside and left for Chicago without saying anything to family, police said. No information is available on the identities of the victims, police said.
