Person Shot After Chicago Police Officer, Pinned by Vehicle

Chicago Tribune, One person has been shot by police and at least one officer, possibly two, were hit by a vehicle Wednesday in the Austin neighborhood on the West Side, authorities said.

The incident took place a little before 11:15 a.m. near Concord Place and LeClaire Avenue. A suspect was shot by police and an officer pinned by a vehicle in the 1600 block of North LeClaire Avenue, said Chicago police spokesman Anthony Guglielmi, in a Tweet.

The person shot was in critical-to-serious condition, said Chicago Fire Department spokesman Larry Langford.

At least one officer was taken to Advocate Lutheran General Hospital in Park Ridge, Langford said.

A spokeswoman for the Independent Police Review Authority did not immediately have information.
