(Patch) EVERGREEN PARK—A man was shot to death Sunday evening on a quiet residential street in Evergreen Park. The front yard of a home was roped off by crime scene tape and police aimed flashlights at the ground looking for evidence.
According to a news release, Evergreen Park police went to the 9100 block of St. Louis Avenue around 7:19 p.m. for a report of shots being fired. Officers found a man on the ground hit by gunfire, who was rushed to Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn. He was pronounced deceased at 7:52 p.m.
The man’s name is being withheld pending notification of his family. His age is unknown, but neighbors believe the man is in his twenties. Police said the suspect is still at large. The suspect’s identity is unknown.
Police are still at the scene. The South Suburban Major Crimes Task Force has been activated and is assisting in the investigation.
