Chicago Club Shooting leaves 1 Dead 1 Wounded in Chatham

A man was killed, another man wounded and a woman was hit by a car during a fight at a club in Chatham on the South Side, police said.

The two men, 29 and 32, were in the 50 Yard Line Sports Bar & Grill at 69 E. 75th St. around 1:40 a.m. when they got into an argument with someone who pulled out a gun and fired, police said.

The 29-year-old was shot in the abdomen and was taken in critical condition to Stroger Hospital, where he was pronounced dead, said Officer Ron Gaines, a Chicago police spokesman.

The 32-year-old was shot several times in the leg and was taken to Stroger in serious condition, Gaines said.

A 26-year-old woman inside the club ran away after the shooting and was hit by a car near 75th and Michigan Avenue. Police believe the shooter fled in the car that struck the woman, authorities said. The woman was taken to Stroger Hospital, where her condition was stabilized.

A person was in custody, police said. Three other people were wounded in shootings in the city overnight. Continue Reading
