Chicago Police Arrest Gunman after Witnessing Shooting in Wicker Park

A suspect was in custody after a 32-year-old man was shot and wounded early Sunday in Wicker Park.

The victim was walking in the 1100 block of North Ashland around 5:45 a.m. when someone in a sport-utility vehicle shot at him, grazing his head, according to the police, who said the man was taken in good condition to Stroger Hospital.

Fourteenth District police officers witnessed the shooting and pulled over the suspected shooting three blocks away, in the 800 block of North Ashland, recovering a weapon and spent shell casings, according to the police, who said charges were pending Sunday afternoon.
