Dumb Gunman Tries to Rob Georgia Gun Shop

Gun store owner shoots at would be robbers, killing one The owner of a Georgia gun shop says he had no choice but to open fire on two armed suspects when they entered his store.

Police say two armed men burst into Jimmy Groover’s Dixie Gun and Pawn store and attempted to hold up the store owner at gunpoint Monday.

What the men weren’t aware of was that Groover was also armed.

In the video, Groover can be seen picking up his gun and opening fire on the men, killing one of the suspects.

The other suspect ran off, and police are still searching for him.

Police say it is unlikely Groover will be charged because he acted in self-defense.

Mother, Newborn Carjacked, Shots Fired at Target in the South Loop

UPDATE An armed carjacking by three black males in a silver BMW just occurred at 1:45 pm Tuesday at the target store at Clark and Roosevelt Rd in the South Loop, The Male that fired the shots was described as a black male wearing a yellow jacket and skull cap. Gunman pulled up to a mother with a newborn in her blue Subaru demanded her vehicle, she frantically pulled her baby and car seat from the car, but then a struggle ensued the man fired a dozen shots and then drove away in her Subaru.

No one was struck by the gunshots the mother was hospitalized with non-life-threatening injuries.

In a statement Tuesday night, a Target spokesperson said, “At Target, the safety and security of our guests and team members is a top priority. We are working with law enforcement on this matter.”

The suspects are still at large.

US Bank in Oak Lawn Robbed Twice over a 14 Month Period

The US Bank in Oak Lawn has been robbed twice over a 14-month period. The second robbery took place Saturday morning at 11:03 a.m. The FBI. described the incident as a non-takeover robbery.

The suspect was described as a heavyset black male weighing at least 200 pounds. The FBI gave this description of the offender he wore dark glasses, a baseball cap and dark jeans.

The man slipped a teller a note and took off on foot with an undisclosed amount of money.

The first robbery occurred on Aug 27, 2015. It was a takeover bank robbery that was committed at US Bank in Oak Lawn located at 103rd and Central.

Two armed black men entered the bank around 9:00 am. One suspect secured the lobby at gunpoint and the other held an employee at gunpoint as he entered the bank vault and took an undisclosed amount of money.

Both suspects wore masks and what appears to be blue latex gloves. There is a photo of them without masks just prior to entering the bank. Nobody was hurt in the robbery, days later the FBI captured the two suspects.
