A man was shot dead outside a Mobil gas station early Sunday in the South Austin neighborhood on Chicago’s West Side.
The shooting happened in the 4800 block of West Madison at 1:59 a.m. the exact age of the man was estimated to be in the mid-20s. He was shot multiple times in the stomach. He was taken to Mount Sinai Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
According to one witness, who would not give his name, said, he was standing across the street on the south side of West Madison when he heard people arguing in the parking lot.

A 30-year-old man who was shot while live-streaming a video on Facebook Live in March met a tragic end late Friday at a South Side gas station.
Brian Fields was sitting in a vehicle about 10:20 p.m. at the station in the 1900 block of West Garfield when a gunman walked up and shot him in the chest, according to Chicago Police and the Cook County medicalexaminer’s office.
Chiquita Ford, also 30, who was in the vehicle with him, was shot in the side. They were both pronounced dead at the scene at 11:02 p.m. No one was in custody, and police continue to investigate.
A police source confirmed Fields was shot earlier this year, on March 31, in West Englewood.
At that time, Fields was using Facebook Live, which sends out a live video stream, while standing on the corner of 56th Street and Hoyne, the Chicago Sun-Times reported.
Shots suddenly rang out, and the video feed began to wobble and then dropped to the ground, pointing up at the blue sky. The shooter — wearing a red, white and black jacket then appeared above — holding a pistol with both hands, firing more shots.
Fields was shot multiple times and taken to Mount Sinai Hospital in critical condition.
Residents in the neighborhood said Fields had recently moved away from Chicago and had only been back in the city for a few days, perhaps hours before getting shot, the Sun-Times reported after the March 31 shooting.
Court records show that Fields pleaded guilty to second-degree murder charges in 2005, and was sentenced to time already served after spending nearly four years in Cook County Jail awaiting trial.

Four people were killed and 11 other people were wounded Saturday and early Sunday in separate city shootings, Chicago police said.
About 3:05 a.m. Sunday, a 23-year-old man was shot in the Lawndale neighborhood. Police responded to a call of a person shot on the 2400 block of West Lexington Street and found the man on the ground with gunshot wounds to his back.
The man was taken to Mount Sinai Hospital, where he was later pronounced dead. At the scene, a man whimpered, saying that he was just with the victim. He shook his head and looked at the ground. A woman ran up to the crime scene tape, demanding to know if the victim was still alive, saying that they were all just at a nightclub together. Details regarding the shooting were not immediately available.
About 2:10 a.m. Sunday, a 20-year-old was found dead in the Lawndale neighborhood. Police arrived to the 1500 block of South Christiana Avenue, and officers witnessed shots being fired and several individuals fleeing the area. The officers chased the gunmen on foot and arrested two people. Four weapons also were recovered. The victim was shot in the chest; he was pronounced dead at the location. No shots were fired at officers during the incident, despite initial reports.
About 1:50 a.m., a 27-year-old man was shot in the back in the 7300 block of North Sheridan Road in the Rogers Park neighborhood. The man exited his apartment through the back door and when he returned, he told his friends he had been shot. He was taken to St. Francis Hospital, where he was later pronounced dead.
In the fourth fatal shooting, at 10:15 a.m. Saturday, a man was standing in the 3100 block of West 24th Street when a vehicle pulled up and someone inside fired several shots, said Officer Bari Lemmon, a Chicago police spokeswoman. The man was struck in the chest, abdomen, back and arm. He was taken in critical condition to Mount Sinai Hospital, where he was pronounced dead, Lemmon said.
He was later identified as Giovanni Galvan, 20, of the 2200 block of South Trumbull Avenue, according to the Cook County medical examiner’s office. He was pronounced dead at 10:41 a.m.
Police believe the shooting was gang-related.

A man was shot to death and nine others, including a ride-sharing driver, were wounded in shootings since late Friday morning in Chicago, authorities said.
A 37-year-old man was shot to death about 1:40 a.m. Saturday in the West Garfield Park neighborhood, police said. Officers found the man, who has not yet been identified, on the ground in an alley in the 4200 block of West Wilcox Street. He was declared dead at the scene.
Police do not yet know the circumstances surrounding the shooting.
On Friday at about 3 a.m., two men ages 23 and 36 were critically wounded in a shooting in the Lakeview neighborhood on Chicago’s North Side. They were standing outside a vehicle in the 1000 block of Belmont Avenue when an unknown gunman approached and began shooting at them.
The younger man was shot 5 times, and the older man was shot in the neck. Both were listed in critical condition at Advocate Illinois Masonic Medical Center.
The shooting appears to be gang-related. The shooters or shooters are still at large. Maggio News signing off.

About 12:30 a.m., a 25-year-old man was shot in the leg in the 2200 block of West Walnut Street in the West Town neighborhood, police said. He took himself to Stroger Hospital, where his condition was stabilized. Information about the shooting was not immediately available.
In the Buena Park neighborhood on the North Side, a 28-year-old man was shot in the left knee about 12:25 a.m. Saturday, police said. He was standing in the 800 block of West Cuyler Avenue when someone got out of a vehicle and began shooting at him. His condition was stabilized at Advocate Illinois Masonic.
About 5:50 p.m., a 35-year-old man was shot in the leg in the 6100 block of South Evans Avenue in the West Woodlawn neighborhood. The
man was in front of a home when someone on foot fired shots, hitting him. The man was taken to the University of Chicago Medical Center, where his condition was stabilized, said Officer Thomas Sweeney, a Chicago police spokesman.
In the New City neighborhood, two 16-year-old boys were wounded late Friday morning, police said. Just before 11:30 a.m., the teens were in the 1800 block of West 54th Street when a beige or green SUV drove by and someone fired shots, police said. One boy was hit in the finger, and the other suffered a knee wound. Both teens were taken to Holy Cross Hospital, where their conditions were stabilized, police said.

On Friday evening at around 2:00 a.m. a couple’s car was chased down by shooters as they drove through the Pilsen Neighborhood on the south side of Chicago.
The vehicle suddenly closed in on their car at Damen avenue and Cermak road and began firing multiple shots at them. One of the bullets penetrated the driver’s side window barely missing the man’s head.
The man was injured in the neck from flying glass and was taken away by ambulance, he was listed in good condition. I am glad to report no one was seriously injured in this shooting.
The shooter or shooters are still at large.

A 21-year-old woman was killed during a domestic dispute in the Eden Green neighborhood on the Far South Side about 7:25 p.m., police said. She was arguing with a person she knew in the 300 block of East 130th Street when he took out a gun and shot her in the chest. She went to Advocate Christ Medical Center in critical condition and later was pronounced dead. Someone is in custody in connection with the shooting, police said.
About 4:50 p.m. a 22-year-old man was outside in the 9500 block of South Ewing Avenue when he heard gunshots and felt pain, said Officer Thomas Sweeney, a spokesman for Chicago police. The man suffered a gunshot wound to the side, and he was later pronounced dead at Northwestern Memorial Hospital.
Another fatal shooting occurred in the West Pullman neighborhood just before 7 a.m., when officers responded to the 700 block of West 117th Place and found a man with a gunshot wound to the chest. The man, believed to be 18 to 20, was taken to Metro South Medical Center in “grave” condition, authorities said. He was later pronounced dead.
