A man was shot to death and nine others, including a ride-sharing driver, were wounded in shootings since late Friday morning in Chicago, authorities said.
A 37-year-old man was shot to death about 1:40 a.m. Saturday in the West Garfield Park neighborhood, police said. Officers found the man, who has not yet been identified, on the ground in an alley in the 4200 block of West Wilcox Street. He was declared dead at the scene.
Police do not yet know the circumstances surrounding the shooting.
On Friday at about 3 a.m., two men ages 23 and 36 were critically wounded in a shooting in the Lakeview neighborhood on Chicago’s North Side. They were standing outside a vehicle in the 1000 block of Belmont Avenue when an unknown gunman approached and began shooting at them.
The younger man was shot 5 times, and the older man was shot in the neck. Both were listed in critical condition at Advocate Illinois Masonic Medical Center.
The shooting appears to be gang-related. The shooters or shooters are still at large. Maggio News signing off.

A 30-year-old man was grazed on the arm by a bullet about 1:45 a.m. in the 100 block of West 110th Place in Roseland on the South Side, police said. The man did not want medical attention, and he was uncooperative with officials, police said.
About 12:30 a.m., a 25-year-old man was shot in the leg in the 2200 block of West Walnut Street in the West Town neighborhood, police said. He took himself to Stroger Hospital, where his condition was stabilized. Information about the shooting was not immediately available.
In the Buena Park neighborhood on the North Side, a 28-year-old man was shot in the left knee about 12:25 a.m. Saturday, police said. He was standing in the 800 block of West Cuyler Avenue when someone got out of a vehicle and began shooting at him. His condition was stabilized at Advocate Illinois Masonic.
About 5:50 p.m., a 35-year-old man was shot in the leg in the 6100 block of South Evans Avenue in the West Woodlawn neighborhood. The
man was in front of a home when someone on foot fired shots, hitting him. The man was taken to the University of Chicago Medical Center, where his condition was stabilized, said Officer Thomas Sweeney, a Chicago police spokesman.
In the New City neighborhood, two 16-year-old boys were wounded late Friday morning, police said. Just before 11:30 a.m., the teens were in the 1800 block of West 54th Street when a beige or green SUV drove by and someone fired shots, police said. One boy was hit in the finger, and the other suffered a knee wound. Both teens were taken to Holy Cross Hospital, where their conditions were stabilized, police said.

On Friday evening at around 2:00 a.m. a couple’s car was chased down by shooters as they drove through the Pilsen Neighborhood on the south side of Chicago.
The vehicle suddenly closed in on their car at Damen avenue and Cermak road and began firing multiple shots at them. One of the bullets penetrated the driver’s side window barely missing the man’s head.
The man was injured in the neck from flying glass and was taken away by ambulance, he was listed in good condition. I am glad to report no one was seriously injured in this shooting.
The shooter or shooters are still at large.
Three people were killed and at least 13 others have been wounded in shootings since Tuesday morning, police said.
A 21-year-old woman was killed during a domestic dispute in the Eden Green neighborhood on the Far South Side about 7:25 p.m., police said. She was arguing with a person she knew in the 300 block of East 130th Street when he took out a gun and shot her in the chest. She went to Advocate Christ Medical Center in critical condition and later was pronounced dead. Someone is in custody in connection with the shooting, police said.
About 4:50 p.m. a 22-year-old man was outside in the 9500 block of South Ewing Avenue when he heard gunshots and felt pain, said Officer Thomas Sweeney, a spokesman for Chicago police. The man suffered a gunshot wound to the side, and he was later pronounced dead at Northwestern Memorial Hospital.
Another fatal shooting occurred in the West Pullman neighborhood just before 7 a.m., when officers responded to the 700 block of West 117th Place and found a man with a gunshot wound to the chest. The man, believed to be 18 to 20, was taken to Metro South Medical Center in “grave” condition, authorities said. He was later pronounced dead.

About 10:40 p.m. a 24-year-old man was shot to death in the Englewood neighborhood, police said. He was involved in a fight over a gun with another male in the 7300 block of South Morgan when the male eventually gained control of the weapon and opened fire, police said. The man suffered multiple gunshot wounds to the body and was taken to Stroger Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
The 13-year-old boy was one of four wounded in a shooting that left a man dead at 8:50 p.m. in West Englewood, police said. The group was standing in the front yard of a home in the 6700 block of South Winchester when a group of males walked up and started shooting, police said. The shooters then ran away.
A man in his 20s was shot in the head and was pronounced dead at the scene, police said. The boy suffered multiple gunshot wounds to the right thigh and was taken in critical condition to Comer Children’s Hospital. A 23-year-old man with a gunshot wound to the left leg and a 30-year-old man with gunshot wounds to the left leg and buttocks were both taken to Stroger Hospital, where their conditions were stabilized. The fifth victim, a 34-year-old man, was shot in the right leg, right hand and shoulder, police said. He was taken to Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn, where his condition was stabilized.
The Cook County medical examiner’s office did not immediately confirm either fatality.
The day’s latest shooting happened about 11:30 p.m. in another Englewood neighborhood attack. A 21-year-old man was driving south in the 5600 block of South Loomis when someone got out of a black car and fired shots in his direction, police said. He suffered two gunshot wounds to the back and was taken in serious condition to Stroger Hospital.
About 7 p.m., someone shot a 38-year-old man in the buttocks and thigh when he refused to hand over his cash in the 700 block of North Lavergne in the Austin neighborhood. The man was taken to Mount Sinai Hospital in serious condition after the failed robbery, police said.
At 1:07 p.m., two men, ages 21 and 27, were shot near the former Harold L. Ickes homes in the 2600 block of South Federal, police said. They were taken to Northwestern Memorial Hospital, where the younger man was in serious condition with gunshot wounds to the face and neck, and the older man’s condition had been stabilized with a wound to the buttocks. Police have not released the circumstances of the shooting, but said four suspects were arrested at the scene.
A man walked into the hospital more than 18 hours after he was shot early Monday in more Austin neighborhood violence. The 34-year-old told investigators he was driving about 1:45 a.m. when someone in another vehicle stopped at an intersection in the 1600 block of North Cicero opened fire in his direction, police said. The man suffered a graze wound to the back. About 8 p.m., he took himself to MacNeal Hospital in Berwyn, where he was listed in good condition.
Monday’s first shooting happened just after midnight in the Fuller Park neighborhood. A 24-year-old man was walking at 12:10 a.m. in the 3900 block of South Wells when two people walked up to him and one opened fire, hitting him in the hand, foot and buttocks, police said. His condition was stabilized at Stroger Hospital.

On Saturday October 8th at 10:00 pm, a 19-year-old woman was grazed in the head by a bullet. The woman was in a vehicle that was traveling in the 5200 block of South Albany Avenue in the Gage Park neighborhood, when someone inside a white SUV began firing at the vehicle she was a in.
One of the bullets burst through the back window of the SUV and struck the girl in the head. the vehicle then escaped the scene at 52nd and Albany and came to a stop at 47th and California. The young ladies condition was stabilized at Mount Sinai Hospital.

From Friday afternoon to early Monday, at least 46 people were shot in the city as the summer’s violence continued into October. As of Monday, at least 3,200 people have been shot in Chicago this year, 930 more than this time a year ago.
There have been at least 568 homicides this year, 172 more than this time last year, according to data kept by the Tribune.
As has been the case all summer, the overwhelming majority of attacks this past weekend occurred on the South and West sides. Only one person was shot north of Division Street, and that was the weekend’s first shooting Friday afternoon: A 23-year-old man wounded in the 5300 block of West Diversey Avenue.
Early Saturday, at least four people were shot when someone opened fire at a party in Englewood, police said. Three men were taken to hospitals after the house party in the 6800 block of South Emerald Avenue.
Later, a fourth man, 32, was taken to Holy Cross Hospital by friends with a gunshot wound to the arm. He initially told investigators he had been shot elsewhere in the city but later admitted he had been shot at the Emerald Avenue party, a law enforcement source said.
Sometime later, a 26-year-old man got to St. Bernard Hospital with a gunshot wound and said he had been shot in the 7100 block of South Vincennes Avenue. But police suspect he may also have been shot on Emerald Avenue, according to preliminary information from the law enforcement source.
Witnesses at the party were being uncooperative with investigators, sources said.
A 17-year-old girl was killed in Back of the Yards early Saturday, less than an hour after two men were wounded in a separate shooting in the same neighborhood. The girl was in a white Toyota in the 4500 block of South Wood Street when someone began shooting at the vehicle from the sidewalk. She was hit in the back of the head and pronounced dead at Holy Cross Hospital.
Early Sunday, a 20-year-old man was shot dead outside the California Pink Line CTA station, police said. Officers responding to a call of a fight by the station, in the 2000 block of South California Avenue, found two gunshot victims: the 20-year-old man, who was pronounced dead at the scene, and a 24-year-old man who had been shot in the buttocks. The surviving victim’s condition was stabilized.
