Second Day of Chicago Memorial Weekend leaves 4 dead and 36 wounded

WARNING GRAHPIC: Man Shot Multiple Times in the Austin Neighborhood

Two days of the Memorial Day weekend are over, and there are four dead and 36 wounded across the city, with two more days to go.

On Sunday May 29th at about 12:20 a.m. a 37-year-old man was shot in the 4700 block of West Erie Street on Chicago’s Westside. He was taken to Mount Sinai Hospital with wounds across his body. The man was shot on the other side of Cicero Avenue then the man ran across Cicero and collapsed in front of a house on Erie Street, the people that lived at the residence were having a party when the man showed up all shot up, he then collapsed from his wounds in front of their house. The residents feverishly applied towels and tried to stop the bleeding of his multiple wounds. Paramedics and police then showed up and worked on the man for some time as people desperately looked on; the man was taken away in critical condition by ambulance. The shooter or shooters are still at large.

This chair is a sad representation of all the empty chairs being created in the households of families, by killers in the Bloody Streets of Chicago.

Car full of girls Sprayed with Bullets one Passenger Shot in the neck in Englewood

On Saturday May 28th a group of well-dressed girls were driving home from a party when they encountered trouble on the 6800 block of south Winchester in the Englewood Neighborhood, that’s when gun fire erupted after another vehicle pulled alongside the car full of ladies and started firing into their vehicle. The gunman shot out the driver’s window and hit one of the female passengers in the neck. The other car then speed off and the ladies car eventually came to an abrupt stop at 68th and Ashland blocks away from the location where the shots were fired,, that’s when police were called and first responders showed up to treat the young ladies wound, she was taken away by ambulance in stable condition, the shooter or shooters are still at large.

Chicago-land weekend shootings, 5 killed, 40 wounded

A city employee caught in gang crossfire was among five people killed and 40 more wounded in shootings across Chicago between Friday afternoon and Monday morning.

Chicago Police issued a statement Sunday in the middle of one of the first consistently warm weekends of the spring, as intensified city gun violence typically accompanies rising temperatures.

“As we look toward the summer months, Superintendent Johnson has made it very clear that the violence will not be tolerated – period,” the statement said. “The cause of the violence traces back decades, and everyone has a role to play in fixing it – police working with parents, judges, residents, clergy, community leaders, and others. Put simply, we need more values, fewer guns and stronger sentences against violence offenders.” Continue Reading

Two Shot in Drive by in the South Austin Neighborhood

On Friday May 20th around 9:50 p.m. a 23-year-old man and a 24-year-old woman were wounded in a Drive by shooting in the South Austin neighborhood on the West Side.

The two were sitting in a parked vehicle at a gas station at Jackson and South Cicero Avenue when a black SUV pulled up boxed them in and someone inside began firing shots into their vehicle.

The man drove away from the shooting and drove down a couple of blocks to Adams and Cicero where he crashed head on into a pickup truck. A child was on the scene but it was not clear which vehicle the child was in.

The man was hit in the chest, and he was taken to Stroger Hospital, where he was listed in serious condition. The woman was shot in the lower left leg, and her condition was stabilized at Stroger. The shooter or shooters are still at large.

Shooting Wednesday Night leaves 3 dead 2 injured in Englewood

Chicago Police Intercept and Arrest 2 Suspected Gang Shooters

On Saturday May 7th around 1:00am a shots fired call was responded to by Chicago Police, the shots fired call identified the location as 61st and Paulina in the Englewood Neighborhood. When CPD was rolling into the scene they spotted two suspects fleeing the scene in their car when they turned onto 63rdand Ashland.

Police were able to intercept the two gang members and box them in, when suddenly they jumped out of their car and attempted to flee from police and ditch the gun or guns used in the shooting incident a couple blocks away. Police officers searched the area and recovered one gun from the area then both suspected shooters were arrested by Chicago Police.

Chicago’s Lithuanian Plaza Neighborhood shooting, leaves 2 wounded

On Saturday morning May 7th around 1:20 a.m., a 25-year-old man and a 29-year-old woman were wounded in a shooting in the Lithuanian Plaza neighborhood on the South Side.

The two were leaving a party in the 6900 block of South Campbell Avenue when an unknown attacker ambushed them and started firing shots into their vehicle.

The man was shot in the hand. He was taken to Holy Cross Hospital and later transferred to Mount Sinai Hospital, where he was listed in good condition.

The woman was struck in the leg. She was in Holy Cross, where she was listed in good condition. The shooter or shooters are still at large.

Friday Shootings in Chicago leave 3 dead, 27 wounded

Three people, including a 16-year-old boy, were killed and at least 27 other people have been wounded in shootings since late Friday morning across the city, according to Chicago police.
On Saturday moring May 7th around 3:30 a.m., a 25-year-old man and a 23-year-old man were wounded in a shooting in the East Garfield Park Neighborhood on Chicago’s West Side.

The two men were in the 3200 block of West Maypole Avenue when they were shot. The older man was shot in the face, and he was taken to Mount Sinai Hospital, where he was listed in critical condition. The 23-year-old was hit five times in the torso, and he was also taken to Mount Sinai, where he was listed in fair condition.

The circumstances of the shooting are still being investigated by CPD. The shooter or shooters are still at large. Continue Reading

Shooting on I55 Shuts Down Southbound Expressway

A man was shot early Saturday morning while driving on the Stevenson Expressway heading southbound, the shooting happened around 6:30 am. between the Cicero and Central avenue exits. The Illinois State Police shut down the southbound lanes of the Stevenson Expressway for two hours to investigate the shooting.

The victim’s car was struck by two bullets, one went through the passenger window and the other entered through the windshield, one of those bullets hit the driver in the leg, according to police the shooter fired at least five shots at the man.

After the shooting, the car sped off, and exited the Stevenson at the Central Avenue

The man was taken away by ambulance from the scene; first responders said he was in stable condition with a non-life threatening gunshot wound to the leg.

The Illinois State Police are still investigating this shooting, the shooter or shooters are still at large.

Shootings on Monday Leaves 2 dead and 13 wounded, across Chicago

Two people were shot to death and at least 13 others, including a Chicago police officer, were wounded in shootings on Monday in Chicago.

On Monday evening April 25th 2016 at around 9:00 pm a 16 year old boy was walking down the street on the 2100 hundred block of south Paulina, when a light colored vehicle pulled up next to him and started firing at him, the boy was struck in the chest and taken to Stronger Hospital in critical condition, the shooting is believed to be gang related, but the victim is not a documented gang member and this shooting incident could have been a case of mistaken identity by the shooter, the shooter or shooters are still at large.

Man shot in the East Garfield Park Neighborhood

On Sunday April 24th 2016 at 1:05am a man was shot on the 2200 block of south Maypole Ave. in the East Garfield Park neighborhood. A unknown male jumped out of a car and started firing at the 30 year old man sitting in his car, the man was struck in the leg the man’s condition is unknown, the shooter or shooters are still at large.

Two People shot in a drive by in The Humboldt Park Neighborhood

On April 23rd 2016 at 4:55 pm two people were shot at Chicago Ave and Avyers in the Humboldt Park Neighborhood on the Westside. The two men were sitting in their car when a light colored sedan pulled up and a man exited the car and began firing into their automobile. A 29 year old male was grazed in the left hand and refused treatment at the scene the other 22 year old male was hit in the left leg and taken in stable condition to Stroger Hospital. Two Gang Members Shot in West Town Neighborhood

At 4:51 am Sunday April 17th two men ages 22 and 23 were shot walking on the side walk next to the Marathon Gas station at Ashland and Eire. The Two men were each shot in the leg they were picked up by a passing motorist and rushed to the hospital both men are in stable condition, both shooting victims are documented gang members and the shooting is believed to be gang related. Man Robbed then Shot in Wood Lawn Neighborhood

At 415 am Sunday April 17th three men robbed a 30 year old man of money and jewelry, according to CPD the man was shot three times, he was hit in the left arm, left hand, and left ankle, this happened on the 6300 block of King drive. The man was taken to Stroger Hospital and is in stable condition. The shooter or shooters are still at large.
