Bloody Monday in Chicago leaves 3 Dead, 26 wounded


At least 29 people have been wounded, three fatally, in shootings since midmorning Monday in Chicago, authorities said.

At 10:45 p.m., a 21-year-old man died after getting shot wounded in the Englewood neighborhood on the South Side, police said.

The man was walking in the 5600 block of South May Street when someone in a passing black sedan fired shots, striking him in the left side, police said.

The man was taken to Stroger Hospital, where he was initially listed in serious condition. He was later pronounced dead, said Officer Hector Alfaro, a Chicago police spokesman.
Around 9:30 p.m., a 28-year-old man was shot to death and a 21-year-old man was wounded on the 5300 block of West Gladys Avenue in the Austin neighborhood on the West Side, police said.

The 28-year-old was shot multiple times, and he was taken to Mount Sinai Hospital in critical condition. He was later pronounced dead. Continue Reading
