Bloody Chicago, 2 Dead, 11 Wounded in Shootings on Thursday

(Chicago Tribune) Two men were fatally shot and 11 others, including a man in his late 70s, were wounded in separate attacks from Thursday morning to early Friday, Chicago police said.

In the most recent fatal shooting, a man on the West Side was standing about 9:05 p.m. Thursday outside of the CTA Pulaski Pink Line Station in the 2000 block of South Pulaski Road when a gunman approached him and opened fire.

The man was shot in the neck and the back. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

He was identified as Jaron Jackson, 21, according to his family and the Cook County medical examiner’s office.

An earlier fatal attack happened on the South Side in the 5300 block of South Calumet Avenue in the Washington Park neighborhood about 3:55 p.m., police said.

A man, who was believed to be in his 30s, was on a sidewalk when a vehicle drove past and someone inside fired shots, wounding him multiple times in the back. He was pronounced dead at the scene. Continue Reading
