Bloody Chicago, 1 Dead, 7 Wounded in Shootings on Thursday

(Maggio News) On Thursday, 1 person was shot and killed and 7 others were wounded in shootings across the city. Another was stabbed and wounded during a robbery.

The first shooting took place on the 6400 block of south Lowe at 11:37pm. 2 men were standing on the sidewalk when an occupant in sedan fired shots. a male black, 23, sustained a gunshot wound to the left arm and is in stable condition at Stroger. The second male black, 21, sustained a graze wound to the left and refused EMS. No one is in custody. Area South investigating. On background – victims are both documented gang members.

A 17-Year-old man was shot on the 3000 block of west Jackson at 3:29am A Male Black 17 sustained a graze wound to the ear. He was walking down the street when a vehicle approached and an unknown male passenger fired shots striking the victim. Taken to Norwegian in good condition. No one in custody area North Investigating. Documented gang member.

A 36-Year-old male was shot on the 3900 block of West Grand at 5:15am. The man was sitting in his vehicle, black Volkswagen 4 door, when an unknown vehicle pulled up alongside of him and then fired 5-6 gunshots at Victim. The man sustained 2 gunshot wounds, 1 to upper left arm and 1 to lower left back. He was transported to Mt. Sinai in stable condition. Victim was unable to give description of Offender. No one in custody. Area North investigating.

A 46-Year-old man was shot and killed on the 5600 Block of south Richmond at 11:34am. The man sustained a gunshot wound to the chest. He was taken to Holy Cross in grave condition, he was later pronounced dead. The Man was outside the location when a black Cadillac SUV pulled up and unknown offender fired shots from inside the vehicle, striking the victim, the vehicle then fled in unknown direction.

A 15-Year-old Girl was shot and wounded on the 5700 block of south Michigan Avenue. Chicago Police Officers responded to a call of check the wellbeing and discovered a 15-year-old female with a gunshot wound to the leg. The female was transported to Comers Hospital in good condition. Ongoing Area Central investigation.

A 20-Year-old man was shot on the 1000 block of east 73rd street at 3:51pm. The 20-year-old man sustained multiple gunshot wounds to the leg. The man stated he was standing at the location when he heard shots and felt pain. Victim has gang affiliation. He was transported to Stroger Hospital in stable condition. No one in custody. Area Central is investigating.

A 27-year-old man was shot on the 1400 block of west Carrol at 9:26pm. The victim a male Hispanic, was walking on the sidewalk with two other males when two male offenders approached on foot and announced a robbery. The victim attempted to run and was shot in the left forearm and left thigh and was taken in stable condition to Stroger. The offenders fled and took several items of jewelry along with unknown amount of cash from the victims. Area Central is investigating.

A 30-Year-old man was stabbed on the 6500 block of south Racine at 8:40pm. The man sustained lacerations to the neck and was transported to Stroger in stable condition. Victim stated that he was sitting on a bench at the location when an unknown man tried to take his property. The man fled scene. No one in custody. Area South investigating.
