4 Men Shot, Saturday in separate incidents blocks away in East Garfield Park

(Sun Times Wire) Two men were wounded in a shooting Saturday in East Garfield Park on the West Side.

They were on the sidewalk about 1:43 a.m. in the 3300 block of West Maypole Avenue when someone drove up and opened fire, Chicago police said.

A 32-year old was struck in the jaw, chest, abdomen and leg, police said. The other man, 25, was shot in the foot. Both took themselves to Stroger Hospital.

The older man’s condition was stabilized, and the younger man is in good condition, police said.

Area North detectives are investigating.

Hours later two men were struck by gunfire Saturday in East Garfield Park.

About 5 a.m., they were standing in front of a vehicle in the 3400 block of West Fulton Boulevard when an unknown group of people began to argue, Chicago police said. The pair heard shots and felt pain.

A 33-year-old was hit in the abdomen, back and was taken to Mount Sinai Hospital in critical condition, police said. The other man, 32, was hit in the groin and was taken to the same hospital where his condition was stabilized.

Area North detectives are investigating.

Earlier, two men were wounded in a separate shooting a few blocks away.
