(ABC 7) Three people were found dead Thursday afternoon inside a southwest suburban Joliet home.
Officers were sent to the single-family home about 2:50 p.m. in the 2000- block of Great Falls Drive for a death investigation, according to Police Chief Brian Benton.
Police believe a party at the home lasted into the early morning hours, something happened, and violence erupted. They were tipped off by a man, who directed officers inside the home where the bodies of three adults were found. All three had been shot.
“He had gone into that residence and he had discovered one subject that was deceased in that residence. When our officers arrived, they made entry into the residence and they located a total of three victims in the residence, and all three were deceased,” said Deputy Chief Edgar Gregory.
“Nothing like this usually happens around here, so it’s kind of scary to know that something happened,” said resident Kevin Corse.
Their deaths were being investigated as homicides Thursday night, police said.
The Will County coroner’s office has not released their identities pending notification of family.
Anyone with information was asked to call Joliet investigators at (815) 724-3020.
