3 Dead, 5 Wounded in Shootings Monday in Chicago

(Maggio News) Two men and one women were shot and killed, and 5 others were wounded Monday in Chicago.

A 29-year-old woman was shot on the 1400 block of North Mayfield in the North Austin Neighborhood at around 9:00 pm. The woman was getting into a car when a male black offender approached on foot and fired shots.  Victim was taken in stable condition to Loyola with a gunshot wound to the buttocks.

An 18-year-old man was shot multiple times on the 4800 block of west Monroe in the South Austin Neighborhood at around 7:20 pm. He sustained gunshot wounds to the hand, armpit and back. he was transported by ambulance to Stroger Hospital in good condition. The victim approached a vehicle in an alley when 5-6 shots were fired by the offender. No one in custody. Area North investigating.

One man was killed, and another was wounded on the 1400 block of west Garfield in the Back of the Yards neighborhood at around 5:40 pm. Chicago Police officers patrolling the area heard gunshots in the area, checking the area they discovered a 19-year-old, man unresponsive on the sidewalk.  The man sustained multiple gunshot wounds to the body. He was pronounced on scene. A second victim approached officers on scene and the victim, a 20-year-old male sustained 2 gunshot wounds to the chest and 1 in the leg.  He was transported to Stroger Hospital in critical condition. The victims were standing in an alley when the offenders approached in a vehicle fired shots then fled on foot. The deceased 19-year-old was a documented gang member. No offender information.  No offender in custody.  Area South Detectives are investigating.

A 24-year-old man sustained a gunshot wound to the left leg at around 5:15 pm on the 4900 block of South Indiana in the Grand Boulevard neighborhood. He was transported by ambulance to Stroger Hospital where he is in stable condition. The man stated he was driving his vehicle when he realized he was shot. No further information. Area Central investigating. No one in custody.

A 30-year-old man, sustained a gunshot wound to the head. This happened on the 5300 block of west Oakdale at around 3;30 pm in the Belmont Cragin neighborhood. The victim was transported to Illinois Masonic in critical condition. The man was seated in his car when another vehicle pulled up alongside him and began firing shots. No one in custody. Area North Detectives are investigating.

Chicago police responded to a call at around 4;00 am of 2 people shot on the 3600 block of west Cortland in the Logan Square neighborhood. When they arrived on scene they discovered 2 victims, and adult male and female, unresponsive with gunshot wounds to the head. The two deceased individuals are a female, 39 and a male, 44. The couple were married, and their deaths are believed to be a murder suicide. No one in custody. Area North Detectives are investigating.
