25-Year-old Woman Viciously Gunned Down in West Garfield Park, Dies Days Later

On September 21st Chicago cops responded to a ShotSpotter call and found 25-year-old Benita Garrett in the driver’s seat of a parked vehicle on the 4400 block of west Congress Parkway in the West Garfield Park neighborhood with gun shots wounds to the face. She was transported by ambulance to Mt. Sinai in critical condition. The shooter are shooters of this beautiful young woman are still at large. I am sad to report Benita succumb to her wounds days later and died at Mount Sinai Hospital on Wednesday September 25th Area North investigating.

    Sending Condolences to this young lady family !!! I don’t know what is going on in Chicago but this is Sad The Shootings smh this is not OKAy ..I can’t even come HOME to visit and see my loved ones bc of this type of calamity .Gun Violence is tearing up families ,having mother’s burying they kids smh .When all those Guns was stolen years ago ,Don’t y’all see that this was a trap to do exactly what y’all doing Killing Y’all selves and innocent people .And shoots her in her face ….Heartless ..Whoever did this Your Demise is gonna be Terrible .Put them dam guns down

    What is wrong with Chicago? The gangs care less and less about life. The cops are scrutinized so much that seems like they’ve given up and no one wants to be a snitch and help the cops. So until, the community stand up to the gangs and help the police this cycle will never end.
