1 Man Killed, 8 Wounded in Chicago Shootings Monday

On Monday in Chicago one man was killed and 8 others were wounded in shootings across the city. To date 2373, people have been shot and 1984, were wounded and 389, have been killed, total homicides 453.

Officers responded to a ShotSpotter alert on the 600 Block of East 115th St and discovered three men shot inside of a vehicle. A 31-year-old man was shot in the stomach and back but died a short time later at the University of Chicago. The second man a 32-year-old was shot in the leg and is in good condition at Christ Hospital. The third victim a 30-year-old man was shot multiple times in the abdomen and legs and is in serious condition at Christ Hospital. No one is in custody as Area South detectives investigate. On background, all three victims are known to police.

A 26-year-old man was shot in the right leg on the 5000 block of w Erie. The man was standing on a porch when a man approached on foot and fired shots. The victim was transported to Mt Sinai in good condition. No offender in custody, Area North Detectives are investigating.

A man was shot on the 9400 block of south Western Ave the man was walking down the block when an unknown vehicle pulled up and people in the vehicle fired shots striking the man, he was transported in stable condition to Christ Hospital. No offender in custody, Area South Detectives are investigating.

An 18-year-old man was shot on the 7300 block of south Racine, the man was leaving a store when an unknown vehicle drove by and someone inside the vehicle fired shots striking the man in the left foot. He was transported in stable condition to the University of Chicago Hospital. No offender in custody, Area South Detectives are investigating.

An attempted robbery occurred on the 8300 block of south Kerfoot, the male offender was attempting an armed robbery when a physical altercation ensued. The offender sustained multiple gunshot wound to his left arm and a graze wound to the head. Offender was transported to U of C hospital and is stable condition. Offender is in custody. No other injuries reported. Area South Detectives are investigating.

A 49-year-old man was shot on the 7900 block of south Emerald. The victim was walking down the street when he heard shots and felt pain. The man believes that a gold colored vehicle driving by at the time fired shots striking him in the left side. The man was transported to University of Chicago in stable condition. NO offender in custody, Area South Detectives are investigating.

A 23-year-old male was shot on the 3100 block of west Douglas he sustained a gunshot wound to the upper right leg. He was transported to Mt Sinai in Good condition. No offender in custody. Area Central detectives are investigating.
