1 Dead, 3 Wounded in Shootings on Tuesday

(Maggio News) Two men were shot on the 200 block of west 87th at 7:11 pm in the Chatham Neighborhood. The two men were crossing the street when multiple shooters exited a dark colored vehicle and began shooting at them, hitting both.

The shooters then re-entered the vehicle and fled the scene. The 26-year-old man was shot in the chest and abdomen and was transported by ambulance to Christ Hospital where he was pronounced dead. The second man sustained a gunshot wound to the arm and was transported by ambulance to St Bernard Hospital in good condition.

Police found the vehicle suspected in the shooting and 2 people of interest were taken in for questioning, and a gun was recovered. This is now a homicide investigation.

A couple of hours later a man was shot in the face in a drive-by shooting in the Lawndale neighborhood on the West Side.

The 30-year-old man was sitting in a parked vehicle when a gray car pulled up and someone inside fired shots about 11:40 p.m. in the 3900 block of West Roosevelt. He was taken to Mt. Sinai in serious condition.

A 51-year-old male black was shot at 1:20 am on the 11600 block of south Ada in the West Pullman neighborhood, he was walking on the street when two men exited a white Monte Carlo and fired shots.  The victim was taken to Christ hospital in stable condition with a gunshot wound to the left thigh. No one is in custody.  Area South investigating.
