Woman Shot, Boy age 11 injured in Drive By Shooting in North Aurora

A 21-year-old Montgomery woman is in critical condition after being shot in the parking lot of a North Aurora convenience store on Saturday night.

According to police, a suspect in a burgundy Chrysler sedan fired several shots at a car parked outside a store in the 1000 block of Orchard Road at around 8:43 p.m., the Kane County Chronicle reported. The 21-year-old woman was transported to an area hospital with life-threatening injuries.

An 11-year-old Aurora boy who was also in the vehicle was cut by broken glass and sustained minor injuries, according to WGN. The shooting reportedly took place in the parking lot of a CVS pharmacy.

The vehicle fled the scene and was pursued by police before the driver fled on foot in the 800 block of North Randall Road in Aurora, according to the Chronicle.

As of Sunday morning, the suspected shooter was still at large.
