One man was killed and at least eight others were wounded in shootings Monday across Chicago.
A man was discovered shot to death about 2:15 a.m. in the East Garfield Park neighborhood on the West Side.
Police responded to a call of a person shot and found 33-year-old Michael Buckner lying in a lot in the 3900 block of West Monroe, according to Chicago Police and the Cook County medical examiner’s office.
Buckner, whose address was not known, was shot in the legs, neck and abdomen and pronounced dead at the scene at 2:34 a.m., authorities said. Area North detectives are conducting a homicide investigation.
Most recently, two people were shot in the Back of the Yards neighborhood on Chicago’s South Side.
The 17-year-old boy and 20-year-old man were standing on the sidewalk about 9:40 p.m. in the 1400 block of West 51st Street when someone in a black car nearby opened fire, according to police. The boy was shot in both thighs and right foot, while the man suffered a gunshot wound to the right shin. They were both taken to Stroger Hospital, where their conditions were stabilized. A Chicago police source said the older man is a documented gang member, and strongly believe this shooting is gang related the shooter or shooters are still at large.
Less than an hour earlier, a 40-year-old man was seriously wounded in a Humboldt Park neighborhood shooting on the West Side. He was standing on the sidewalk about 9:15 p.m. in the 2700 block of West Haddon when he heard shots and realized he’d been struck in the back of the head, police said. Two people—including a pregnant woman—were shot in the Back of the Yards neighborhood Monday afternoon on Chicago’s Southside. The victims were shot in front of their house and were then chased into the home by gang shooters. They were identified by family, as 23-year-old Crystal Myer and 25-year-old Albert Moore, a couple expecting their first child. Family outside of Stroger Hospital said the baby has been delivered while both parents were still in surgery. Police say Moore is a documented gang member.

At 12:30 a.m. Saturday, an 18-year-old man was killed in the West Ridge Neighborhood on Chicago’s North side.
He was walking in the 2100 block of West Devon Avenue when someone wearing a gray hoodie and light blue pants fired shots at him. He was hit in the chest and pronounced dead at the scene in the middle of the street, his body was draped by a sheet. The Cook County medical examiner’s office identified him as Miguel Bahena of the 5600 block of North Campbell Avenue. Mr. Bahena is said to be a made member of the Latin Kings Street Gang.
A witness at the scene described what he seen while driving on Devon and seeing Bahena’s friend standing, hysterical, in the middle of the road.

The man stayed at the scene where his friend was killed for hours, with the victim’s blood all over his jeans.

Two people were shot at a laundromat on the city’s South Side Friday morning and surveillance video captured two men opening fire.
A man and woman were struck by gunfire in the 6800-block of South Stony Island. At least one shot went into the laundromat through the front door window.
By 9:30 a.m. surveillance footage showed two people on bikes, at least one was armed and ready to fire. They circled the parking lost at 68th and Stoney Island. It becomes clear they had a target in mind. The pair, one on a Divvy bike, rode up to the front of a laundromat, dropped the bikes and strolled in. Within a matter of seconds, they spotted someone and immediately the target took off.
He tripped over a laundry cart on the way out and dodged bullets coming at him from behind. And then there was a woman in pink who walked out just ahead of the gunfire, only for it to come her way by chance. She tried to duck, but a bullet grazed her shoulder. And just like that, the gunman ran away as fast as he fired.
The female victim was driven to the hospital. The male victim, in his 20s, was taken to the hospital by ambulance. He was shot in the back and lower leg.
Police are now looking for the suspect.

On Saturday June 11th at around 10:20 pm a teenaged boy was shot and killed on the city’s South Side.
The 17-year-old boy and a 19-year-old man were shot in the 5200 block of South Sangamon Street in the Back of the Yards Neighborhood.
Police say the two were standing in the street when someone in a silver Audi fired several shots.
The 17-year-old was shot in the back and taken to Stroger Hospital, where he later died.
The 19-year-old was shot in the arm and also taken to Stroger Hospital, where his condition was stabilized overnight.
According to police on the scene one of the two victims exchanged return gunfire with the occupants of the Audi.
The Shooter or Shooters are still at large.
On Friday May 10th at around at 8:45 p.m. two men were shot in Englewood Neighborhood on Chicago’s South-side. The two men, ages 26 and 27, were standing outside the Mobil Gas station on the 200 block of West Garfield Blvd, when two gunmen walked up and opened fire on the two then ran away and disappeared into the night. The two men were shot multiple times, one of the men was killed and has been identified as, Terry Bates Jr. age 26, he was pronounced dead at 10:35 p.m. at Northwestern Memorial Hospital. The condition of the 27-year-old, who suffered chest and leg wounds, is in stabilize condition.
Investigators say the shooting was gang-related.
This video stands out because it shows the sheer fire power these gang members possess, the amount of shell casings left behind at the scene shows the massive amount of bullets that were fired during the attack, these stray bullets sometimes randomly hit innocent people driving or walking in the affected area. Two examples of indiscriminate bullets that found their targets happened on Friday, a 5-year-old girl was hit by a stray bullet in Marquette Park, and a 73-year-old man shot in the face at a South Side gas station when he was caught driving through a gang shoot out, in the South Shore Neighborhood. On Monday June 6th at around 8:10 p.m. a 6-year-old girl was shot in the back and critically injured in the Palmer Square neighborhood on Chicago’s North-side.
The child was shot by GANG members on the 2100 block of North Bingham Street.
The girl was playing in front of the home when a silver vehicle full of GANG BANGERS drove up and multiple shooters began firing, on shot hit the girl in the back.
A quick thinking relative immediately drove the girl to the St. Mary’s medical center; she was then transferred in critical condition to Stroger Hospital.
Neighbors said they heard between eight to 10 shots in about 15 seconds, another resident that has lived on the block for 31 years said the gunshots were loud, and said the suspects used three different guns. The resident also pointed out the fact that there have been three shootings at that house in the past year.
Outside Stroger family members were crying and talking outside. The family declined to talk to reporters, the one thing they did say was that the girl’s condition has stabilized as of early Tuesday morning. The shooter or shooters are still at large.
