Bloody Chicago, 7 Wounded in Shootings across the City

At least seven people were wounded in Chicago shootings from Thursday morning to early Friday, police said.

In addition, about 5 p.m., a 3-year-old boy was critically wounded during what appeared to be an accidental shooting in Englewood.

Just after 2:30 a.m. Friday, two people were shot in an East Garfield Park club. Someone fired shots inside the Midnight Riders club, a hangout for motorcycle enthusiasts in the 3800 block of West Chicago Avenue. A man, 32, and a woman, 42, were shot and taken by ambulance to Mount Sinai Hospital. The man was shot in the chest and listed in serious condition. The woman was shot in the ankle and listed in good condition.

About 10 minutes earlier, a 33-year-old man was shot in West Chatham. He was outside in the 7500 block of South Perry Street as a gray truck approached and someone inside shot him in the leg and buttock. He was taken to Advocate Christ Medical Center and his condition was stabilized. Police found spent shell casings scattered along 75th Street as well as in a nearby parking lot behind a club.

About 12:55 a.m., a 15-year-old boy was shot as he took out the garbage in Little Village. He was in the alley in the 3400 block of West 21st Street when he noticed two people nearby who fired shots at him. He was shot in the finger and went to Saint Anthony Hospital in good condition.

At 9:20 p.m. Thursday, a 28-year-old man got himself to Roseland Community Hospital with a gunshot wound to the left arm after being shot in West Pullman. The attack occurred as he was driving north in the 11600 block of South Morgan Street. He stopped at a stop sign and someone in a black hoodie walked down the street firing shots, police said. The man’s condition was stabilized.

About 12:55 p.m., a 21-year-old man was shot in the 7000 block of South Damen Avenue in West Englewood, police said. He was walking when he was approached by someone who opened fire, striking him in the lower back and arm. He was taken to Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn where his condition was stabilized.

Earlier Thursday, a person was found shot and seriously wounded after his car hit a tree in the Gresham neighborhood, police said. The car crashed in the 8100 block of South Morgan Street shortly before 10 a.m., police said. A male victim, whose age was not available, suffered a gunshot to the head, according to police. He was taken in serious condition to Advocate Christ Medical Center.
